Frank Wahl, who began manufacturing the massagers in a small factory in Sterling, Illinois.Leo spent his free time selling these massagers to barber shops, where he saw the need to improve existing barber tools. When his uncle was called up for military service during the Mexican Revolution, Leo Wahl took over the manufacturing business and began working on a new electric hair clipper.
